Our Leadership
Bible Chapel believes that the Scriptural pattern for spiritual oversight of the local church is through a plurality of elders. Elders, also referred to as bishops, overseers or pastors, are to be appointed based upon the qualifications set forth in Scripture. They are to faithfully guide and rule for the spiritual welfare of the body as a whole, and members individually, by giving themselves to the ministry of God’s Word and prayer. They are to be examples to the flock in their life and conduct. (Acts 6:4; Ephesians 4:11,12; Philippians 1:1; I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; Hebrews 13:17; I Peter 5:1-3.)
Presently, Bible Chapel has three men serving as elders. Two of these men serve as lay-elders along side one full-time vocational elder.
Kevin Landis is the pastor. His father was the first pastor of Bible Chapel and serviced from 1967-1977. The Landis family moved to the west side of Cincinnati during those years and Kevin graduated from high school at Oak Hills High School; he then went on to Cedarville College and graduated in 1976 with a B.A. in Bible and then earned an M.Div. from Grace Seminary in 1980. He has been at Bible Chapel since August of 1980. He is married to Jackie and has two children, Kara and Kyle.
